New SSDAG Resources Coming Soon
Early in the new year SSDAG will re-release its printed resources. The current resources were originally developed by the AIDS Council of NSW (ACON). ACON kindly gave SSDAG permission to use the Text of their Another Closet resources about 5 years ago. The new look resource, although still based on the orignal text have been heavily updated. They have been given a new name ( towards freedom) and will also include the art work of local artist Carl Gopal. More significantly the resources will now use the term DSG (Diverse sexuality and Gender) in place of Gay and Lesbian. The Term DSG which was first used in WA by PICYS ( Perth Inner city Youth Service) and then by SSDAG is now being used by the WA AIDS Council and the Freedom centre. By adopting the term DSG the new resources will better acknowledge the diverse community that SSDAG advocates for. The new resources will primarily be availiable from mid January 2010 from the following organisations
- WA AIDS Council
- GLCS ( Gay and Lesbian community Services)
- FPWA
- PICYS
- The Freedom Centre
- SSDAG Website for Download
They will also be availible from domestic abuse organisations in mid February 2010
